Wadebridge Cricket Club - The Swans

Welcome to the Play-Cricket Homepage of Wadebridge CC

SENIOR OUTDOOR TRAINING NOW TAKING ON!

TUESDAY EVENINGS FROM 6 PM AT THE CLUB. NEW PLAYERS WELCOME

JUNIOR TRAINING STARTS ON 29TH APRIL FROM 6 PM (AGES 7-16 YEARS) AND RUNS WEEKLY ON FRIDAY NIGHTS FROM THEN.

We have three ambitious adult sides playing in the Cornwall Cricket League; the 1st XI in County Division One, the 2nd XI in Division Three East, and the 3rd XI in Division 5 East The Club launched a women's team for the first time in 2014, finishing a very creditable third in the Cornwall Women's League in their first year and 2nd in 2015.

The Club's home is on the picturesque Egloshayle Playing Fields in the North Cornish town of Wadebridge. Our clubhouse, earmarked for an exciting redevelopment, has a licensed bar with Sky Sports for those who wish to enjoy a drink instead of playing! The Club had a new ground for the third XI in 2014 at nearby Trelill, St Kew Highway, and will be looking to further develop this ground in the future.

The club has a large and successful youth section for boys and girls aged six years and above, who are attended by our dedicated team of ECB-qualified coaches. Junior teams compete in the Kernow Youth League at Under 11, 13 and 15 age groups, with recent graduates going on to earn professional county and even England recognition. We are ECB ClubMark qualified, recognising good practice in the coaching and care of children, and also run a Chance To Shine programme in local primary schools.

Two of the Club's members, Sophie Mackenzie, who started playing for the Club at 8 years old, and Emily Edgcombe, the current captain of the women's team, have recently been selected for the England Under 19s Women's Development Programme. If you are interested in sponsoring the girls in any way during their exciting winter at the National Cricket Centre in Loughborough please contact a Club Official.

The Club is actively seeking to welcome new players, social members, volunteers and sponsors ahead of a busy and exciting 2016 season. For anyone interested in joining the WCC family, please e-mail wadebridgecricket@gmail.com
