Wadebridge Cricket Club - The Swans
Welcome to the Play-Cricket Homepage

of Wadebridge Cricket Club

Winter training is now under way with the outdoor season starting in April. New players are welcome, as as are any help in any aspect of the Club, be it umpiring, scoring, coaching, fundraising or any other capacity.

If you would like to get involved or would like some further information please email

We have three adult sides playing in the Cornwall Cricket League; the 1st XI in County Division One, the 2nd XI in Division Three East, and the 3rd XI in Division 5 East The Club launched a women's team for the first time in 2014, finishing a very creditable 3rd in the Cornwall Women's League in their 1st year, 2nd in 2015 and 3rd in 2016.

The Club's home is on the picturesque Egloshayle Playing Fields in the North Cornish town of Wadebridge. Our clubhouse, earmarked for an exciting redevelopment, has a licensed bar with Sky Sports for those who wish to enjoy a drink instead of playing! The Club had a new ground for the third XI in 2014 at nearby Trelill, St Kew Highway, and will be looking to further develop this ground in the future.

The club has a large and successful youth section for boys and girls aged six years and above, who are attended by our dedicated team of ECB-qualified coaches. Junior teams compete in the Kernow Youth League at Under 11, 13 and 15 age groups, with recent graduates going on to earn professional county and even England recognition. We are ECB ClubMark qualified, recognising good practice in the coaching and care of children, and also run a Chance To Shine programme in local primary schools.

One of the Club's members, Sophie Mackenzie, who started playing for the Club at 8 years old, was selected for the England Under 19s Women's Development Programme and the Western Storm Super League franchise in 2016. If you are interested in supporting Sophie in any way during her exciting programme of training and matches please contact a Club Official. We look forward to seeing her progress in 2017.

The Club is actively seeking to welcome new players, social members, volunteers and sponsors ahead of a busy and exciting 2017 season. For anyone interested in joining the WCC family, please e-mail
