Wadebridge Cricket Club - The Swans

Welcome to the Play-Cricket Homepage of Wadebridge CC

TRAINING 6pm Snrs Tues, Jnrs Thurs: NEXT GAME; 1st XI v St Minver Sat-5/9, 12pm

We have three ambitious adult sides playing in the Cornwall Cricket League; the 1st XI in County Division One, the 2nd XI in Division Three East, and a 3rd XI which has been promoted to Division Five East for 2015. In 2014 The Club launched a women's team for the first time, finishing a very creditable third in the Cornwall Women's League.

The Club are competing in the Cornwall Indoor League 2014/15 and will be commencing 2015 pre-season training at Truro's Cornwall Cricket Centre fortnightly at 6-8pm on Fridays from January 23rd. New players of all abilities are welcome to attend; please contact for more information.

The Club's home is on the picturesque Egloshayle Playing Fields in the North Cornish town of Wadebridge. Our clubhouse, earmarked for an exciting redevelopment, has a licensed bar with Sky Sports for those who wish to enjoy a drink instead of playing! The Club had a new ground for the third XI in 2014 at nearby Trelill, St Kew Highway, and will be looking to further develop this ground in the future.

The club has a large and successful youth section for boys and girls aged six years and above, who are attended by our dedicated team of ECB-qualified coaches. Junior teams compete in the Kernow Youth League at Under 11, 13 and 15 age groups, with recent graduates going on to earn professional county and even England recognition. We are ECB ClubMark qualified, recognising good practice in the coaching and care of children, and also run a Chance To Shine programme in local primary schools.

One of the Club's members, Sophie Mackenzie, who started playing for the Club at 8 years old, has recently been selected for the England Under 19s Women's Development Programme at just 15 years of age. Sophie has played for the Club's 2nd XI, 1st XI and Women's teams in 2014, as well as Cornwall Women and Cornwall Under 15s and Devon Under 17s. If you are interested in sponsoring Sophie in any way during her exciting winter at the National Cricket Centre in Loughborough please contact a Club Official.

The Club is actively seeking to welcome new players, social members, volunteers and sponsors ahead of a busy and exciting 2015 season. For anyone interested in joining the WCC family, please e-mail
